Raising funds for Old Age Lurchers and sighthounds over the age of 8 who find themselves in a rescue
Her memory will live on by helping others
Miss Maggie was rescued by Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue (EGLR) from a miserable existence, she was close to death but her spirit, with the care she received from a very special fosterer gave her the strength to recover.
I fell in love with Miss Maggie from the moment I saw her, sadly she had less than 2 years with us .
Those 2 short years however changed our lives and hers.
Miss Maggie's Supper Box has been set up as a legacy to Miss Maggie and her partner in crime Mr Duskey.
The aim is to raise funds for Old Age Lurchers (OAL's) and sighthounds over the age of 8 who find themselves in a rescue.
Why is it called the supper box fund? - well, every night before bed Miss Maggie and Mr Duskey would always wait patiently for me to produce their supper box, this was a plastic box filled with their favourite treats. I do believe this was a favourite time of day for both of them, Maggie used to do an excited little jig on her wobbly legs at the mere mention of it.
As a tribute to these special rescued Lurchers their virtual supper box now sends treats, money to help with vet fees, coats, joint supplements etc to older sighthounds in rescue.

Rupert the eleven year old Lurcher handed in to Hector’s yesterday spent the night at our Vets receiving Intravenous fluids as he was severely dehydrated. Blood tests have shown he has an infection and he has commenced on a course of antibiotics. The infection is possibly due to advanced dental disease as there is no other apparent cause.
Rupert will of course need extensive dental surgery, but he isn’t fit enough yet. He weighs just 15.4kgs, he should weigh around 25kgs Rupert has moved to an experienced Hector’s foster home today for some much needed TLC.
This gentle boy has a long road of recovery and we are sorry to have to once again ask for your help with donations.
A huge thank you to Miss Maggie’s Supper Box who have already generously donated to his care.
