Miss Maggie sent £300 to go towards is X Rays and vet fees this is his story.
"Abney came into our care as a stray from the Merthyr area. He has some deep facial scarring as well as pressure sores on his legs and hips. We were very concerned about his gait when he arrived - he holds both shoulders out as well as being very unsteady on his hips. He was also very scared of people and would crouch down to the floor when ever he was approached. Although we have no way of knowing where Abney has come from, it is likely he has been used as a working dog and kept in a confined space, possibly with a low ceiling.
Abney is currently on pain relief and joint supplements. We are working on a programme to build up his muscles to support the joints. He will need x rays on his elbows and hips to see if there is any arthritis or dysplasia present. Thankfully since coming to us Abney has blossomed, although he is still reserved around new people he now greets the staff with a wagging tail and loves to run around the field".
