Unfortunately, one of Jessie's legs needs to be amputated ~ here is a copy of the post on Facebook that explains her situation, it speaks for itself really.
"I know that she is strong, she wants to live and she is in pain. We can remove that pain, and give her the chance to live happily and pain-free for whatever time she has left. That may be a few months, or it may be a couple of years. I think she broke her hock shortly after she ran (and won) only her 4th race - in August 2008. That's 9 years of pain."
Update ~The surgery took place on the 15th September, Jessie's recovery went really well and she is now much happier on her 3 legs then she was with 4.
In April Jessie gained her wings - run fast and free dear Jessie.
