At the end of the drive they found this gorgeous Saluki tied to their signpost, with a bag of dog food and a note, this is what Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary went on to say:
There was a little nervous tail wag as we approached, so we calmly and steadily made our way to meet them.
The note said My name is Prince, about 12 1/2 years old
We softly spoke to Prince as we untied him from the signpost, and headed into the Sanctuary with him.
He could not have been tied up for long, as some of the team had only arrived minutes earlier, and he was not there then.
All rescue dogs are given a good check up by the the Vet, Prince was found to have a skin irritation, a build up of plaque on his teeth and sore limbs. Miss Maggie sent over £350 towards his care.
Update: Prince was struggling to adapt to Sanctuary life, and after a few unsettled days at the sanctuary and the vets, he moved in with a fabulous foster family. Saluki's are known for bonding with their family members, and he was definitely suffering with a little separation anxiety after his ordeal.
Prince has now settled having very quickly formed a bond with his foster Mum, unfortunately Prince still has a few ailments some will be long term.
