We understand some older people struggle to look after themselves let alone their pets but if people have an elderly, infirm or poorly relative who are struggling to look after their animals, family members step in and do something to help before it’s too late
Poor Rusty is emaciated, was completely matted his nails were massively overgrown with some nearly curling into his pads, he has cataracts, is deaf and has a mouth full of rotten teeth. He struggled to walk when he arrived due to the matts around his legs, solid matts in the pads of his feet and such long nails but is feeling a bit more comfortable now all the knotted fur is gone, it’s not the prettiest groom but the poor old lad had had enough at this stage.
One of our supporters alerted us to Rusty and we were pleased to be able to send Wonky Pets £150 towards his care.
Update: Very Sadly in October it was discovered that poor Rusty had a rapidly growing tumour in his stomach, it was at that point that the kindest thing for Rusty was to let him pace peacefully in the arms of those who had loved and cared for him. It is so sad that he didn’t get his happy retirement, however he was loved and cared for when it mattered at the end of life.
