Unfortunately he had a range of complex medical issues. After all his rotten teeth were removed, leaving only the canines, the rescue thought that George's health would improve. However, sadly this was not the case. George's eyesight was not good and he was diagnosed with cataracts on both eyes, these deteriorated rapidly over the months and he had very little sight left. This wasn’t all for George he also had some sort of neurological problem heightened by renal failure. The vet fees were significant so Miss Maggie was happy to send Hectors Greyhound Rescue £150 for brave George.
Update ~ We received this message in August "Sadly poor George was put to sleep in the arms of his foster carer following the advice of his vet He suddenly deteriorated and was clearly suffering. He is being cremated and his ashes will go back to his foster carer.
Thank you for your help with him. At least he knew what it was like to be loved in the end"
