Thankfully he was taken from the dog pound by Birmingham Greyhound Protection. The Rescue knew that this would be an expensive undertaking but this did not deter them. A visit to the vets and X Rays show that Owen has had a operation on his knee at some point, he also has arthritis. initially it was thought that he would need to have his leg amputated, but after discussion the vet will try pain relief and anti inflammatory's first, in the hope that his leg will gain strength. Owen is booked in for a dental as his teeth are in a dreadful state and once he has recovered from that then he will be neutered.
Owen has ongoing health issues so he will be kept under the care of BGP in a loving foster home for the rest of his days, Miss Maggie has contributed £120 towards his vet fees.
